19 Weeks - Almost half way there!!!

I have been pregnant for a million years. I have only a million more plus one week and then I should be done, right?

In all seriousness, things are going well. This baby is growing and I can feel some pretty crazy movement! I've even felt baby kick my hand which is impressive.

I feel huge too, though I haven't gained much weight this time around. I'm looking forward to dropping some weight after baby is born - but this time, I have realistic expectations.

We find out next Monday what we're having so that will be my next post! Finally! I do think it's a girl, but I have no real inclination either way. A boy would be great, because I've never had a boy before! And a girl would be just as great because it's still a whole new person, plus we have some girl stuff :)

I've had to use my new winter coat already and it works great! So that was fun. And despite looking quite pregnant now, people still don't offer their seats on the train!

18 Weeks - Hello, Bella band!

Where the hell was the Bella Band when I was pregnant last time? I could have saved myself so much money!

Anyway, the bump is still there, large and in charge. It's not growing too much now, and I haven't felt much movement at all this past week, so naturally I'm internally in turmoil. I will hopefully feel more movement this week!

I got the Bella band, as I mentioned, and that is great - keeps my pants up and also gives me just a little support, which is nice. I'll also be able to use this after baby comes to hide my tummy while breastfeeding, etc.

I also got a maternity coat, which will also serve me as a babywearing coat AND a regular winter coat post-baby, so that is one thing I can check off of my mental list.

Not much has happened baby wise this week, but I am really looking forward to that ultrasound in 2.5 weeks!!!

Total weight gain/loss:  I think around 5lbs, nothing major. Last time I was up 15lbs!

The Bump: Yes, growing.

Symptoms/How I'm feeling: Pinched nerves in my back, ouch. Also just mega tired all the time.

Food Cravings/Aversions: nothing strange, just trying to keep my appetite in check.

Sleep: Not bad, I just wake up to pee around 4am and can't often fall back to sleep after that, so that's no good. Training for having a newborn!

Weddings Rings On or Off: On.

Exercise: Not really. I really should..

Any Names Picked Out Yet: Yes. Not telling.

Gender: Unknown. November!

Movement: A bit. Less than I'd like, but also, I felt nothing last time until around 19 weeks. So we'll see!

What I miss: Nothing really, I just want this little baby to be here, healthy, happy. I want our little family!

Best Moment of the Week: getting the bella band and the coat, which I don't need yet but it's a major relief to have. We tend to get sudden freezing snaps so I'm glad I am prepared!

What I’m excited about/looking forward to: Halloween! And the ultrasound!

17 Weeks

Not much to say about this week, as it's been business as usual. We did have our Thanksgiving dinner and it was delicious! And I got to see my sister which was a bonus. Now, the only thing to look forward to is Halloween, and then my scan! Yay!

Bump is steadily growing - if I can get my butt in gear I will try to include a bumpdate because I don't want to miss it! I know I did one at 17 weeks last time, and I am definitely bigger this time.

Another thing I'm thinking a lot about is the birth, because I have no idea what I can actually do. With complications from Morgan's birth, I have no idea if I can have a baby the normal way or not.

Time will tell!

How far along?: 17 weeks

Due Date: March 24, 2020

Baby is the size of a(n): pear

Total weight gain/loss:  I have no idea, I haven't looked!

The Bump: Yes, people are starting to look, which is a tad uncomfortable!

Symptoms/How I'm feeling: Pinched nerves in my back, ouch. Also just mega tired all the time.

Food Cravings/Aversions: Back to normal I think, nothing weird.

Sleep: Not bad!

Weddings Rings On or Off: On. But I suspect this trimester will change that.

Exercise: Not really. I'm so tired!

Any Names Picked Out Yet: Yes. Not telling.

Gender: Unknown. November! 3 weeks!

Movement: A bit, and it's getting more frequent. I got an app just cause I'm curious about how much I'm feeling and when.

Maternity Clothes: Today I snuck in leggings. Technically I'm not supposed to at my job but IDGAF.

Labor Signs: None. Will not feel these until at the latest, my third trimester.

What I miss: Being a little family of 3. But one more will only make things better!

Best Moment of the Week: Thanksgiving/seeing my sister. Also, I found eggnog on sale!

What I’m excited about/looking forward to: The weekend! For no reason other than I'm not at work! And Halloween!

16 Weeks

I woke up this morning before my alarm, fuzzy and sleepy but knowing full well that I would not get back to sleep. So I slipped on my fuzzy slippers and quietly went pee with the light in the bathroom off - anyone else's child have ears like a little owl? She can hear the damn light switch in the bathroom and she knows someone's "AWAKE awake." Then I quietly tip toed to let the dog out, silently patting myself on the back for the well earned 13 minutes of solitude that I may have given myself, only to open to door to this:

Brrr. So, with Luna unhappily peeing in the wind and snow, I located the only coat I have that doesn't have a broken zipper - I really must go shopping - and zipped it up. All the way up! It was admittedly a little on the snug side but I was zipped.

That was pretty much the highlight of my morning!

It does bring up the need for a winter coat that will cover my belly, as I suspect that just because we had a terrible non-summer, does not mean that we will be gifted a warm winter. Mother Nature doesn't work like that.

Beyond the weather attire situation, things have been good. I hate not having appointments to find out about baby but I do know that I have one in November and that in THAT appointment, we will hopefully find out the sex. Plus, I'm constantly worried that something is going wrong in there. I wish I could relax. But I do want to see that the little guy or gal is thriving.

I think I should post another bumpdate as well, but I think weekly bumpdates are a little ambitious and probably unnecessary at this point, since there isn't too much of a difference from one week to the next.

Edit: I just had my check up and heard baby's heartbeat, not to mention baby is wiggling around like crazy in there so there's definitely movement!

How far along?: 16 weeks

Due Date: March 24, 2020

Baby is the size of a(n): avocado

Total weight gain/loss:  I gained about 3 or 4 pounds

The Bump: Yes, I think I popped a bit this week.

Symptoms/How I'm feeling: Heartburn, which I forgot to mention was an issue last week too! Very tired, party due to being sick. Irritable this week. Also some round ligament pain, which I did experience last time. And I pull a muscle doing pretty much damn near anything, so that's great :)

Food Cravings/Aversions: Mostly aversions: most food tastes like it's gone off. I need to make sure I get back into eating lots of berries and veggies this week.

Sleep: Better, uncomfortable because it is harder to switch from one side to the other.

Weddings Rings On or Off: On. But I suspect this trimester will change that.

Exercise: A bit of walking, I want to start using my kettlebells again to strengthen my core and legs again.

Any Names Picked Out Yet: Yes. Not telling.

Gender: Unknown. November!

Movement: Starting to, yes. I read that this week I should or could start to feel even more!

Maternity Clothes: Pants, I was going to buy more but I think I'm just going to try the belly band - $40 instead of hundreds on pants. I will pick up some cute maternity tops though.

Labor Signs: None. Will not feel these until at the latest, my third trimester.

What I miss: Nothing crazy, I've been enjoying this pregnancy despite all the nonsense!

Best Moment of the Week: Finding out that I can still zip up my winter coat! It's not my warmest coat though.. that's still a thing I need to figure out.

What I’m excited about/looking forward to: Thanksgiving :)

15 Weeks: Zero Immune System

I got sick again after literally less than a week of recovering from my month long cold. Very uncool, body! But it's okay, baby is doing well in there I think. I feel the occasional little flutter and it's very reassuring.

This week also marks a very important day in our world - Morgan's birthday! My little bug is 5 today, time really flies. She had a great birthday weekend and will get to see her uncle this week as well, so that's been a lot of fun.

This Friday I'm heading out with some friends and my brother to a pub for some drinks, and I always feel weird doing that when I'm pregnant, even though I don't drink anymore anyway. When I'm not pregnant, no one can assume anything really, it doesn't matter if I'm drinking or not, but when I'm pregnant, I feel like people instantly think I'm being irresponsible. Weird, right?

I don't know where we are going but if they do have some nice mocktails, I may try one, otherwise I will probably stick to ginger ale. How boring!

I've settled down on my Amazon obsession but I'm still very aware of the fact that we aren't having a baby shower this time, so I need a few things to be really prepared. I've been contemplating just getting a few things off of the Facebook marketplace to make sure I have the basics. We will do a baby meet n' greet sometime in June, but that's several months after I'll have the baby.

I'd be lying if I said that didn't make me nervous!

How far along?: 15 weeks

Due Date: March 24, 2020

Baby is the size of a(n): pear (or Homer Simpson's donut!)

Total weight gain/loss:  I am holding steady at my pre-pregnancy weight

The Bump: Not too much growth this week, but I definitely feel it more in my lower tummy. No more buttons on my pants! They're too restrictive. I'm going to need to get some maternity pants ASAP.

Symptoms/How I'm feeling: Incredibly tired, and sick again. But no major pregnancy related symptoms, besides the usual.

Food Cravings/Aversions: No cravings, but I've been drinking a lot of juice to get that vitamin C in me.

Sleep: Better; only once or twice a night to pee. Could be better if it weren't for this cold.

Weddings Rings On or Off: On. No major swelling yet, so we'll see. I will likely have to take them off in the next few weeks.

Exercise: None, I've been too sick. I did do some yoga but not much.

Any Names Picked Out Yet: Yes. Not telling.

Gender: Unknown. It's not real to me until I know. I should find out early November.

Movement: Yes, every once in a while. Still pretty early so I'm not overly concerned.

Maternity Clothes: Pants, and I need more. It snowed here so now I need a coat that I can do up!

Labor Signs: None - too soon.

What I miss: Feeling attractive! I know it's silly but I feel like a whale, and I have so much more to go!

Best Moment of the Week: Morgan's birthday shenanigans.

What I’m excited about/looking forward to: sleeping. Really, every day, I look forward to bedtime.

Weeks 37 & 38

I'm just so very tired. I am ready for this guy to arrive! And by ready, I really do mean ready. His bag is packed, his bassinet is fo...
