23 Weeks - Hello Month Six!

Finally, month six! I feel like I've waited forever to be just a smidge past half way. New this week: another cold. Seemingly out of the blue. Also I realized I've been eating a lot of carbs and junk. I need to really reign that in and get some healthier meals and snacks going.

Feeling super stretched this week, and have even been in pain a few times. I've been struggling, I admit, with being pregnant in general. I remember being so excited last time, and I am this time, but mostly I just want my baby to be here. I want our little family to be together, and, selfishly, I want my body back. Or, what's left of it.

When you're pregnant you feel like a giant incubator for the better part of a year and that just sucks sometimes. I find my mind wandering to future workouts at home, with the baby in a bassinet, getting my pre-baby body back. And then some!

Anyway, baby boy is doing well, I can tell because he's kicking a LOT, way more than Morgan did at this stage. I'm anxious for my OB appointment, anxious about what she'll say I want the C section, I really do, I want to go in on a selected day, have the baby, not go into painful labour, and just begin our lives.

22 Weeks - Roughly 3 months to go!

22 weeks... yea. So I'm really banking on this cesarean!

Maybe it's selfish, but I've done the whole go into labour, have the contractions, push out the baby thing and I kinda don't want to do it anymore. Yes, it's surgery, and yes, I'm grateful to be carrying this baby, but I'm tired. I'm 36. I'm a mom. I work full time. I just want to have the baby and honestly I don't think my body can do it, safely, this time.

Beyond that, things are good. The little guy is strong, and quite the kicker. I feel a lot of movement, and according to my blog with Morgan, I wasn't feeling this much at all at this point. So that's a nice little bit of reassurance as my days tick along!

21 Weeks - Second Time Troubles

This pregnancy is going just fine! But the trouble with being pregnant when you already have a kid is the other kid.

Morgan herself is not a problem, of course. Do you know what is? When someone at her daycare continues to infect her with lice. I definitely call that a problem.

We've treated it twice and she's sat through several sessions of dry combing, and now we will start with wet combing every other day because it keeps returning! Argh!

No matter what you say to a 5 year old or how many braids you can put in their hair, there's no stopping the cuddling and subsequent lice transfer. It's supremely frustrating.

Anyway. It could be worse! And this baby is safe and sound and has virtually no chance of getting lice anytime soon so I call that a win!

I have felt considerably more movement the last week or so, and definitely more movement than what I felt with Morgan this early on. This kiddo is a wiggly one!

Set up the crib for him as well, even though he won't actually be sleeping in it for another 7 months, give or take, but it's done! I also went through a bunch of Morgan's old clothes to bag them up, and in the process found a whole dresser drawer full of gender neutral clothes INCLUDING a sleep sack, which was a great find. I forgot completely about all that stuff! I also found one of my favourite little sleepers of hers, which happens to be gray with a teddy on it, so this fellah can use that as well.

Winning all around!

20 Weeks -- Half WAY! Baby BOY!

It's a Boy!!!!

Very excited, a little nervous because this is so new to me - I feel like a new mom again! I think it's great though, these two will be so different. My little family is complete.

We've had a first name picked out for literally years (picked from when we were deciding on a name for Morgan before we knew she was a girl) so it's my task now to find a good middle name. I like a few of them, but man it's hard to make a choice!

I'm admittedly a little sad to finally say goodbye to the girl clothes but it's okay. Having a baby is not about the clothing after all! I wonder how a little boy will pull my heartstrings the way my girl did? I'm looking forward to all these firsts!
